One Sunday, my daughter and I went to check out Colgate’s Oral Health Month event at the SM Mall of Asia. Let’s just say that I’m very vigilant when it comes to our family’s dental health and hygiene. I’m the one who replaces everybody’s toothbrushes regularly, buys toothpaste that’s loaded with fluoride (like Colgate!), and sets dental check-ups with cleaning every six months.
Upon registration, I was given a stamp card for the booths. You get one stamp for every booth activity you complete and you need four (4) stamps to qualify for the raffle draw.
The first booth we came across was the Free Dental Check-Up Booth. Colgate stationed Philippine Dental Association (PDA) accredited dentists at the venue to provide dental check-ups for all the visitors. Everyone who went through the check-up was given a free Colgate toothpaste and toothbrush afterwards.
Then we went to the Colgate Plax booth where there was a ring toss game. You throw a Plax ring around the bacteria. Colgate Plax Mouthwash kills bacteria by up to 99.9% and provides 12 hours of protection. When I had my turn, I found it quite easy and I was able to complete the game in no time.
We also went inside the Colgate Total Bacteria-Checking Booth. A special light is aimed at your teeth in the dark in front of a mirror. If you see pink specks on your teeth’s surface, it means that bacteria is building up in your mouth. I tried to take a photo but failed because it was so dark! Since my daughter and I just had our bi-annual cleaning session with the dentist the day before we didn’t have any pink stuff on our teeth. 😀
The next booth we visited was the Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief booth. You have to take the tooth sensitivity test by biting onto an ice cube. If you feel pain or pangingilo, then you have sensitive teeth. If it is determined that you are suffering from sensitivity, you will be offered an actual demo of Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief. Then you’ll be rewarded with an ice candy!
I can personally attest to the efficacy of Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief, having tried it in the past. I have a slightly receded gumline on the left side of my mouth and when something really cold touches it I feel pain. I tried applying Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief directly onto the affected area (apart from using it to brush my teeth) and I experienced immediate relief.
There was also a Colgate Brush The Cavities Away game booth where you’re armed with a toothbrush while you try to brush away the cavities. You get a prize if you succeed in brushing all the cavities away! 😀
After I had gotten 4 stamps, I surrendered my card at the Colgate raffle booth where the stub was detached and dropped into the raffle box. I also got to pick out a prize from the fish bowl and I got to take home a full-sized Colgate Total Toothpaste!
The main program started a bit past 1 pm. We took our seats in front of the stage. After a few words from the Colgate officials and a raffle draw, the Colgate mascots were ushered on stage.
Everyone was invited to have their pictures taken on stage with the Colgate Tooth Defenders. 🙂
Later in the afternoon, Colgate brand ambassador Solenn Heussaff had a storytelling session with the kids where she read “Dr. Rabbit and the Tooth Defenders” to them.
Thank you Colgate for inviting us to the event! Let’s aim for zero cavities with Colgate not just this Oral Health Month but every month! 😀
