Last Sunday, our cook took the day off so as usual we had dinner outside. That afternoon, hubby took a nap and had a dream about eating at Chili’s. Thus come dinner time, he suggested that we go there.
I was surprised that we actually had to wait a bit to be seated because it was a full house. I seriously had no idea people liked Chili’s this much. The first time I tried Chili’s was in Singapore maybe two decades ago, they were not yet open in the Philippines that time I think.
As is the usual case with US franchises, a kiddie activity sheet was provided for the kids while they waited for our orders.
Our daughter got something off the kids menu, specifically Crispers and Spaghetti (P250, pictured above). It came with a small glass of her beverage of choice, lemonade.
It’s pretty big, this is how the Crispers and Spaghetti measures up. Parang hindi kiddie meal! I think even I might get super full if I ate all that. Smaller kids might not be able to finish this.
Our son opted for the Cajun Club Sandwich (P410, pictured above). Layers of toasted bread are filled with spicy grilled chicken, crispy bacon, cheddar, swiss cheese, chopped jalapeno, lettuce, tomato. A mountain of fries sits in the middle of it too. It’s such a huge sandwich he was only able to finish half. I had one wedge for a taste. Pretty good, albeit cloying because of the mayo.
I ordered Big Mouth Burger Bites (P435, pictured above), four mini burgers with crispy bacon, aged cheddar cheese, sauteed onions, green onions, and jalapeño ranch dressing. There’s a mountain of really yummy onion rings in the middle of the burgers. OMG. Soooo good. The beef patty is really juicy and flavorful plus they got my preferred doneness right — medium well. I shared one with hubby, traded of one for a wedge of son’s club sandwich, ate one myself, and took home the remaining piece.
Hubby ordered Santa Fe Steak (P610, pictured above). A marinated 8 oz. steak is placed on a bed of white bread with crispy onion rings and peppercorn sauce. The steak is topped with melted Swiss cheese and served your choice of sides, which in hubby’s case were steamed veggies and sweet corn. Good steaks are usually more expensive so this was a pleasant surprise because yes, it was really good.
We were provided with these sauces as accompaniment for our steak. Too bad we were all too full for dessert as we even ended up taking home leftover burger and club sandwich.
The manager approached us after we had paid our bill and gave us these free kiddie meal vouchers which we can use on our next visit. Yay! Love it!
We had a nice dinner at Chili’s Tomas Morato. Sure it was kind of crowded, but it was quite festive having lots of happy people around. Food was delicious, portions are huge, and service was good! Our bill did come out to nearly P2k but we do like to splurge once in a while. 🙂
