TWe flew to Singapore on March 1, 2024 for the Eras Tour, but our actual concert date was March 3, 2024. Naturally, I filled up our free days with tourist-y activities that I have not yet done. Our last trip to Singapore was way back in 2015, though I’ve been there several times in the past when I was still single.
I booked a slot for the Original DUCKtours Singapore via Klook. I chose the earliest time which was 10am. It’s super hot and humid in Singapore so I figured noon to afternoon would be worse. Since I was already booked via Klook I just showed our booking QR code to the person manning the booth and he gave us tickets with seat numbers. We took the MRT from Orchard to City Hall station and walked to Suntec City Mall. We had breakfast at Fun Toast before proceeding to the Big Bus & Duck booth for boarding.
The “duck” is actually a vehicle which looks like a boat with wheels (check my video tour for a look at the “duck” here). Boarding happens right outside Suntec City Mall. We had a tour guide and a captain who maneuvered our craft.
Our duck went to the water first. This tour is one hour long, 30 minutes in the water and 30 minutes on land. We cruised through the Marina Reservoir and saw famous landmarks like the Singapore Flyer…
…Art Science Museum, Marina Bay Sands…
We even passed by Esplanade, Theaters on the Bay. It’s that building that resembles a durian. Our tour guide also showed us some sites under construction. Apparently Singapore wants to become Southeast Asia’s entertainment hub and is building two more stadiums. They will be up and running by 2027. Does that mean we’ll be watching more concerts there? Lol.
A different view of the Merlion statue can be seen on the water.
Singapore is very hot and humid but it’s kind of breezy when you’re on the Ducktours. I didn’t even bother with makeup that day because I know we were going to be walking a lot. The humidity is really on another level, my hair becomes fluffy and frizzy right after I step out of the hotel. I’m never complaining about Philippine humidity again.
After the water tour we went back to land and drove around the city. The most memorable sight was the War Memorial. It was built to commemorate all the civilians who had died during the Japanese occupation of Singapore.
It was fun. We even had trivia games and my daughter won some cute duck stickers for giving the right answer. Our tour guide was very friendly, cheerful, and knowledgeable. We were brought back to Suntec City Mall where we boarded right after the tour.
The Original Ducktours Singapore costs ₱1,688 per head. It’s good to go on it at least once if you have not tried it yet. I booked it in advance via Klook since I was expecting an influx of tourists for the Eras Tour. It’s a child-friendly and senior-friendly activity overall.
Here’s my Ducktours video for reference if you want a better idea of what to expect.
