I booked an Eras Tour Package from Klook last July 2023. At the time it seemed so far away so my daughter and I really didn’t get too excited back then. For the record, this is the first time we are going abroad in order to watch a concert. I got Category 2 tickets and hoped for elevated seating. I can’t handle standing because if tall people with raised cellphones are in front of me I’m pretty much screwed in terms of view. Well, I got what I wanted.
My daughter and I took the train to the Stadium MRT Station at around 3pm. We had an unremarkable pre-concert meal at Aston’s Specialities in the Kallang Wave Mall. The National Stadium gates opened at 4pm and we entered the venue maybe 5pm. The venue is massive. It actually has the same seating capacity as the Philippine Arena but this is a lot more convenient to go to. This is the default view for Category 2, Section 140, Row S.
If you are watching in Singapore make sure you get a LED bracelet like this upon entry. We were not given these. I saw the other people in our row wearing them and asked the foreign girl beside me where she got them. She said at the entrance so I went back and got us bracelets. The Eras Tour Singapore experience is not complete without it. The lights from the bracelets change colors and are programmed to make different moving shapes like hearts and snakes.
The stage set-up is just wow. I honestly don’t think the Philippine Arena can carry this show. I don’t think I have been to any other concert with this many scenario changes.
The LED screens are so crystal clear that even if you’re seated far away from the stage, you can see Taylor Swift’s every move and facial expression.
All our LED bracelets turned red for her RED era.
What do you know she brought the Folklore cabin to Singapore.
I’m so blown away by Taylor Swift’s energy. She just got on stage and performed song after song after song with no breaks. She was also constantly speaking to the audience and expressing her appreciation, I could feel the warmth and sincerity radiate from her person.
You know she actually sounds EXACTLY the same as in all the streams, music videos, and albums she has put out. She has her own band, back-up dancers, and back-up singers but she still plays the guitar and piano onstage in some numbers.
We watched the concert on March 3, 2024. It was Taylor’s second performance in Singapore. She surprised us with something no one had seen before, the fourth variant of her new album The Tortured Poets Department entitled The Black Dog. She also debuted the first ever live performance of “Long Story Short” from her Evermore album.
This is probably the best concert I’ve ever watched in my life. Our tickets cost SGD 338 each which converts to about ₱14,000+. I honestly prefer flying elsewhere rather than driving to Bulacan.
Prior to this I shared my Eras Tour Survival Kit. I’m happy to report that yes I was able to use all the items there, especially the fan and the cooling spray because Singapore really is hotter and more humid compared to the Philippines. I was also able to put our merch in the ecobag after purchasing because even if the shirts we bought cost SGD 60 each they did not come with bags, lol.
Anyway here are some tips which I hope will be of help in case you are going to the Eras Tour Singapore during its second week:
- Eat before entering the National Stadium. Food and drink booths there have crazy long lines that snake all the way to lord knows where. Food do not even look appetizing. We had people in our section practically doing a mukbang during Sabrina Carpenter’s set.
- Take care of your tickets. They only scan upon entry, they do not check who it belongs to so if by some chance someone else gets a copy of your ticket and gets there before you do, you’re screwed. It’s first scanned, first served.
- Sabrina Carpenter comes out 6pm while Taylor Swift comes out 7pm sharp. Better be in your section before then.
- Review the list of prohibited items they published on Twitter and do not bring any of them. You will be asked to throw those things in the garbage or else you won’t be allowed entry.
- Make sure you get a LED bracelet upon entry. Like I said, my daughter and I were not given any. I just saw people in our row wearing them and asked someone where they got it. Had to go all the way back to the entrance to get ours.
- The concert is finished after the fireworks onstage so you can leave while they are ongoing or immediately after. Stadium MRT Station will get packed and they will cordon it to limit entry. We walked to Mountbatten MRT Station which is a kilometer away and was able to ride comfortably, seated all the way to Orchard MRT Station which was nearest our hotel.
- It rains sometimes so you might want to consider bringing a raincoat or parka. We bought a small collapsible umbrella from 7-11 but was asked to discard it before entering National Stadium. We had no choice because it rained in the morning right after we stepped out of the hotel.
- It’s SUPER HOT AND HUMID in Singapore. If you have wavy, frizzy hair like I do best to tie it unless you want to go around looking like a lion. Taylor Swift had stylists in tow and it still happened to her.
- Wear light clothes to the concert. I honestly don’t know how those people I saw in gown-type dresses are going to survive. I wore an Airism top and denim shorts.
- Wear shoes you can walk comfortably in since there is no way to tell how long you will be walking or standing before, during, and after the concert. Even if we had seats we were standing, screaming, singing, and jumping 85% of the time.
- If you want to buy Eras Tour merch without having to line up, do it right after the concert. Merch booth is still open and there are no long snaking lines since everyone just wants to leave the area.
- There are numerous food trucks camped outside National Stadium in case you want to eat or drink after the concert. There’s also a nearby KFC and McDonald’s but they are packed full with concert goers. The food trucks have way less people.
- Grab cars and taxis will have a hard time navigating through the post-concert gridlock so it’s not really advisable.
- You can recycle your LED bracelets after the concert, they have bins where you can put them in at the exit.
Here’s my Eras Tour Singapore video in case you want to check it out. I used my Samsung S24 Ultra for all my concert pics and vids.
