After a long time of just Serenitea, San Juan is suddenly the home of several Taiwan-style milk tea places. The latest one is TeaTap Cafe along P. Guevarra, which is owned by the same group behind Kozui Green Tea in Tomas Morato.
Out of all the milk tea places I’ve been to date, TeaTap Cafe boasts of the most spacious and nicely designed interiors.
TeaTap Cafe can accommodate more people compared to the typical milk tea place. This is because they’ll be adding an extensive menu of food items eventually. At the moment though Takoyaki, Buffalo Wings, and a couple of pasta dishes are all that’s available to eat.
I decided to try Formosa Roast Black with Pearls (above left) while hubby had Grass Jelly Roast Milk Tea (above right). Both cost P100 for the Grande (big) size. You can set the sweetness levels to 0% sugar (always my choice), 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. I was pretty happy with my sugarless Formosa Roast Black. The syrupy and chewy black pearls already provided the sweetness I needed. Meanwhile, hubby says that TeaTap Cafe’s Grass Jelly Roast Milk Tea is very smooth and nice to drink.
After choosing your tea and setting your sweetness level, the last step is to choose your topping. There’s Perilla, Egg Pudding, Grass Jelly, Pearl Sago, Red Bean, and Nata de Coco. I always go for Pearl Sago. You can also opt to pay P15 for extra topping.
Make sure to ask for a Tap Card when you order a drink so you can collect stickers for every purchase. Ten stickers entitle you to a free drink! 😀
