Here’s a makeup brand you don’t hear everyday — Poise Makeup Professional. Poise Makeup Professional hails from California, USA. Their products have recently become available in the Philippines.
Poise Makeup Professional sent me some samples for review some weeks back.
The Poise Makeup Professional samples included two (2) shades of Poise Mineral Pressed Eye Color (P650 each). The darker brown shade is Coco and the lighter brown shade is Taupe.
There are two (2) shades of Poise Hydrating Luxe Lipsticks (P1,000 each) too — Vintage (left) and Boca (right).
I also got Poise Mineral Pressed Cheek Color in Venice (P850) and Mineral Pressed Face Powder in MPP 30 (P1,300). The face powder looks dark and I’m not really big on contouring so I don’t know if I can use it.
Oh I got a couple more lip products — Poise Liquid Matte Lipstick in 104 (P1,250) and Poise Lip Gloss in Bliss (P1,100).
Poise Makeup Professional products are classified as professional grade and are used in popular US TV shows like Glee and CSI New York. They are infused with vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants so they’re good for the skin. Aside from being sweatproof, highly-pigmented, and long-lasting, they contain no parabens and are never tested on animals.
With all the hype surrounding Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Lip Kit which features her liquid matte lipstick, I decided to try out Poise Makeup Professional Liquid Matte Lipstick first. I will also be reviewing the Kylie Lip Kit soon — I just got it yesterday lol.
Like every other liquid lipstick, it comes with a sponge-tip applicator wand.
Poise Liquid Matte Lipstick is very pigmented. I love the rosy plum shade.
This is how it looks under natural light. The way I apply it is I swipe it over my upper and lower lips then pat a tissue flat over my lips to get rid of the initial wet shiny finish. I have no patience waiting for liquid lipstick to dry. I must say it looks good!
I used it for 3 straight days so I could subject it to different situations. I like how this shade makes my teeth look whiter.
What I like about Poise Makeup Professional Liquid Matte Lipstick:
- It looks sooo good right after application.
- It’s highly pigmented.
- It makes people take notice. I got a lot of compliments the days I used it.
- It glides on the lips, making it easy enough to apply.
- It has this strange buttery caramel scent/taste which I actually found okay.
Downside? Even if I layer my application, it doesn’t last through a meal. In the 3 days I used it, I would end up with my upper lip intact and my lower lip devoid of color after food and drinks. It also has a tendency to dry out lips after about an hour or two. It’s also not cheap.
Poise Makeup Professional products are available at Lazada. You can also purchase/inquire about them at the Poise Makeup Philippines Facebook Page.

Let’s stay connected:
The rosy plum shade really looks good on you! I’m eyeing the Vintage lipstick.
Thanks! I prefer rose and plum shades actually 🙂
Waah, I’m trying out matte liquid lipsticks too… parang di bagay sa akin..
Wow, it is indeed lovely on your lips. I want to get one for myself. One of my problems is keeping lipstick on my lips, they always just fade off so easily, even when i get the nicer brands.
The thing I hate about most matte liquid lipsticks is that they tend to dry. Too bad this too. 🙁
same problem as May, though i would buy nice brands, those lipsticks tend to fade too easily. Or perhaps i havent tried all to really know what best suits me.
