If it weren’t so complicated buying Eras Tour Tokyo tickets, I really would have preferred to watch in Tokyo. Everyone who knows me knows I prefer cold places. Eras Tour SG began selling tickets at the same time and I could not risk doing the lottery for Tokyo. So I queued up during the Klook sale last July 2023 since it was way simpler and more straightforward. I ended up getting Category 2 tickets with one night at a 5-Star hotel. It’s finally March 2024 and we are finally getting ready for our flight to Singapore. My newfound Singaporean friends told me it’s hotter and more humid in Singapore right now compared to the Philippines.
First item in my Eras Tour SG Survival Kit is an Opolar Clip Fan (₱1,199). We have tried countless portable fans and this 6000mAh fan is the only one that can last the entire day. All the others die within a few hours of use. It has a waist clip too so you can easily clip it on the waistband of your jeans. The blast of air is adjustable up to 3 levels and it is quite strong.
Of course we need to make sure our phone never runs out of power so I’m bringing my most reliable powerbank — Anker PowerCore Essential 20000 PD (₱3,595). This is what I always bring when I travel. It’s been to Taiwan and Thailand, now it’s going to Singapore. It never runs out of power. In fact I left it with like 3 bars of power left when I got back from Taiwan (April 2023). I set it aside since I don’t usually need it for daily use. When I checked on it for our Thailand trip in December 2023 it still had 3 bars of power left! This is truly the best powerbank I’ve ever owned and used.
Problem is it does not come with a cord so I had to buy a UGREEN USB Type C Charging Cable (₱195) to go with it. I intend to keep it in my bag so I picked a short .5m cable. It works well and has served me through all my travels.
I’ve also been trying out cooling sprays since last year and these two are the best so far — Snake Brand Prickly Heat Cooling Mist (₱295 for 30ml) and Gatsby Crazy Cool Body Water (₱260+ for 170ml). Honestly both have the same cooling effect that last for maybe 4 hours. The only advantage of Snake Brand is it’s very small and you can easily bring it in your bag. In terms of value for money, Gatsby has more bang for your buck it’s just that you will need to transfer it to smaller atomizers if you want to carry it around with you.
The last two items are a foldable eco-bag and sunscreen. I’ve tried lots of eco bags and I keep going back to RUME bags. They are easy to fold and bring plus they can do heavy lifting — one medium sized bag can hold 50 lbs. I just toss them in the washing machine if they need to be cleaned. They are very durable as well, my last RUME bag lasted maybe 10 years. Problem is they are expensive here in the Philippines so I order from Amazon US where they cost approximately ₱500 each.
For sunscreen, I chose to bring KissMe Sunkiller SPF 50+ PA++++ (₱400+). Since we aren’t swimming or engaging in water sports, non-waterproof sunscreen will do. This one is lightweight and has a refreshing feel on the skin. No white cast too.
Not mentioned here: A GOOD PHONE. Ya’ll wanna be taking great photos and videos to commemorate the entire experience. I actually pre-ordered the Samsung S24 Ultra last January with this in mind.
