Our whole family was invited to the Monde Mamon It Yourself event held one Saturday. I’ve been blogging for years but this is one of the few occasions where I could spend time with hubby and the kids while I was at it. As a mom, I can’t stress enough how family time should never be compromised so I was very happy when Monde came up with an event that all of us could enjoy.
The event was held at Yardstick Coffee in Makati. The place was transformed into a Monde Mamon paradise. Check out the cute registration booth! 😀
There were Monde Mamon and Cream Puffs everywhere. It really was quite festive. I could feel the excitement in the air.
Monde classic and choco-filled mamon were displayed, ready to be decorated.
RX931 DJ Delamar hosted the event. Being a mom herself, she was just as excited about the afternoon’s family bonding-themed activities.
Chef Mitchie Sison conducted a short demo on how to make different frosting. I liked the one which made use of cream cheese and bacon!
She also taught us how to use a piping tube for decorating the mamon with frosting.
It seemed easy! Pipe and top with additional stuff like gummies and candies!
After Chef Mitchie, blogger Grace Barbers Baja of thespoiledmummy.com shared a few healthy but indulgent mamon recipes.
I was very intrigued by her creation The Spoiled Mummy Mamon which was topped by her favorite things — chocolate, peanut butter, fresh strawberries, and pistachio nuts.
Like me, Grace revealed she doesn’t really cook so I’m confident this is something I can do at home, hahaha!
At last it was our turn to have a go at making our own mamon creations! I think this is an ideal family bonding activity because people of all ages and genders can engage in it. It gets the creative juices flowing. If we can imagine it, we can do it! There’s nothing like that feeling of accomplishment when you make something with your own two hands. Since the kids are on summer vacation, this is really the perfect time for Mamon-It-Yourself with the family. Also, Monde Special Mamon is made with real fresh eggs, imported wheat flour, and milk — baked to be delicious!
We were given a set of ingredients to work with — Monde Special Mamon in butter and chocolate, Monde Special Cream Puffs, and a variety of toppings and sauces we could use to decorate them and make them even more yummy!
Son too! His creation reminded me of his Minecraft games somehow.
These two floral-themed mamon were the results of my decorating efforts.
We were given a mamon tower where we could showcase our best creations. People started asking if I baked. The answer is no… this is my first time to actually work with a piping tube. I’m useless in the kitchen that way but wow, I was surprised to discover it wasn’t hard at all!
We had 7 decorated mamons! We actually made 8 but it couldn’t fit anymore.
We definitely had a lot of fun making mamons that afternoon! Delamar went around to check out all our creations when everyone was done.
Before the event came to a close, a surprise video for all the mommies was shown. They made it on-the-spot while we were listening to Chef Mitchie and Grace talk about how they customize their Monde Special Mamons! It certainly made all of us mommies feel very special. 🙂
Wow, it has everything we need to recreate the entire experience at home — it even came with piping tubes! All I need to do now is make frosting, but I’m confident I can do it!
Thank you Monde for a super fun and family-bonding filled afternoon! 😀
Try it, too, mommies! Start with the recipes here: http://www.monde.com.ph. Share your creations with #MamonItYourself. 🙂
