Last Saturday, I took my daughter to the McDonalds Kiddie Crew Workshop 2014 media preview. When my son (who is now 13) was 6 years old I let him participate in this same workshop. We paid P500+ for a 5-day workshop (2 hours a day) wherein he did arts and crafts and McDo crew duties like manning the counter, wiping tables, etc. I wanted my daughter to have a go at it too.
McDonalds Kiddie Crew Workshop is offered yearly during the summer months, specifically March to May, for kids 6-12 years old. The program has been ongoing for more than two decades now since it started in 1992. You go to your McDonalds branch of choice, fill up a registration form, and then pay a minimal participation fee of P595.
After registering and paying, you get a kit which includes a shirt, bag, cap, and ID with lanyard. Other things covered by the fee are snacks and workshop materials (chef’s hat, apron, paint, etc.).
Ronald McDonald himself was there to personally orient and accompany the kids that day.
The kids were also toured around the store. This is the lobby where everything starts since it’s where the store entrance is located. I was unable to follow them to the drive-thru window so there’s no photo.
After going around the store, it was time for an activity — decorate your chef’s hat! I remember during my son’s time it was paint your bag.
The kids were provided with a brush and paints (colored yellow and white, personally I think red paint instead of white would be better because the hat is already white and you can have 2 McDonald’s colors already with red and yellow).
After painting their hats, they got to make their own McDonald’s Cheeseburger. I think my daughter put way too much mustard, lol.
These are just some of the activities your child will get to participate in if he/she registers for the McDo Kiddie Crew Workshop. Would you like to register your kids for the McDonalds Kiddie Crew Workshop 2014? You can do so until April 30, 2014. The first batch starts on March 24 while the last batch ends on May 30.
