I got a peek at Shu Uemura’s latest offering, the Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura Holiday Collection 2012 last October 9.
The collaboration struck me as a tad Coco Chanel-inspired with Karl Lagerfeld’s muse Mon Shu Girl sporting a short bob cut and bold red lips.
Anyhow, the collection had a classic yet ultra-modern vibe with its vibrant yet conservative colors and anime-themed design. Suffice to say, given the range of the palettes, I think the make-up can transition smoothly from coffee (AM) to cocktails (PM).
I was enamored with this eyelash curler with a Mon Shu Girl charm attached to it. So cute! I’m currently on my third Shu Uemura eyelash curler. It only comes with one replacement pad so after you use that up you’ll have to buy a new one next time. I hoarded a few during my last trip to Japan a few years back since they cost just around 1000 yen (around P500) each at the time.
Apart from an exhibit of perfectly drool-worthy Shu x Karl stuff, there were live make-up demos which showed us how to achieve the Mon Shu Girl look.
Shu Uemura accredited make-up artist Patrick Alcober went straight to work.
Here’s a cute video on the birth of Mon Shu Girl. 😀
Bumped into fashion blogger Tricia Gosingtian at the launch. I haven’t seen her in a loooong time, more than a year has passed since the last time she and I attended the same event.
We all went home bearing Christmas gifts from Shu Uemura. I was so surprised that they gave each of us a pair of Karl Lagerfeld limited edition false eyelashes! My 8-year daughter saw them and remarked “Mommy, that’s like Lady Gaga,”… the question is, when and where do I use them? Haha! XD
The Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura Holiday Collection will be available at all Shu Uemura boutiques (Power Plant Mall, Alabang Town Center, Trinoma) and counters (Rustans Shangri-la and Rustans Makati) starting November 1. Stocks are very limited so grab yours now! 😀
I think I might just get myself that eyelash curler since I’m using the last of my stash, hehe.
