I’m not a lip gloss kind of person because I hate how sticky most lip glosses are. They usually don’t have a lot of color too, just shine. What if there was a product that could combine color and shine and the non-sticky feel? Meet Happy Skin Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer (P699).
Happy Skin Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer (P699)
So what happens when premier local makeup brand Happy Skin comes up with their own version of lip gloss? Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer is born!
Happy Skin Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer is everything your regular lip gloss is not. It’s highly pigmented so you don’t have to wear lipstick underneath. It’s not sticky too! Plus it makes lips shiny. It actually reminds me of the Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Lip and Cheek Mousse.
Happy Skin Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer comes in three shades:
- Royal Treatment
- Strong & Sexy (what I got)
- Hear Me Roar
I actually like the pink tone of Royal Treatment best, but what I got is the peachy shade Strong & Sexy.
This is what it looks like when applied to the lips.
This is how it looks like under natural light (above left) and under artificial light (above right).
Here’s another photo with Happy Skin Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer, taken on a different day.
What I like about Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Power Pout Moisturizing Lip Lacquer:
- It’s totally unlike any other lip gloss I’ve used. In fact, it’s lipstick level due to the intense and solid color a single swipe yields.
- It’s not sticky.
- It’s easy to apply because of the smooth formula and the wand.
Downside? If shine is what you’re after, this doesn’t yield glass-like shine. In fact, the shine is quite subtle. Also, this product never really dries so it’s always moist to wet on your lips (it can be a bit bothersome), unlike the Happy Skin Lip & Cheek Mousse which completely dries and stays put.
Happy Skin Moisturizing Lip Lacquer is available for P699 each at http://store.happyskincosmetics.com/. You can also purchase from Rustan’s, Beauty Bar, Plains and Prints, SM Makati, and SM Mall of Asia. I highly recommend shopping online so you don’t have to contend with traffic though. 🙂
