Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I look forward to breakfast when I wake up in the morning. It doesn’t mater if it’s simple butter, toast, and 3-in-1 coffee. I must have my breakfast. Anyhow, to continue my chronicle of our Marco Polo Ortigas Staycation, I’ll tell you about the Cucina breakfast buffet. When you stay at Marco Polo Ortigas, you can opt for a package that includes breakfast for rates that start at around P5k a night.
We checked in on a Friday, I had pre-booked our stay weeks before. During that week, my daughter’s school suddenly announced that they would have Saturday classes starting at 7:30am. Good thing the Cucina breakfast buffet starts at 6am! Hubby, daughter, and I were the very first guests at 6am lol.
If you’re the coffee and pastry type of person, you’ll find a lot to choose from. They have everything from danish to donuts and various types of sliced bread.
I usually have an omelet with everything in it when I’m having breakfast in a hotel. I’m usually too lazy to make it myself at home is why. Cucina breakfast buffet also has salted eggs, tomatoes, and onions you can pair with garlic rice and Filipino staples like tapa, tocino, and danggit.
If you’re the health-conscious type, you can go for yogurt and fruits.
There’s a nice cold cereal selection too.
Drinks aren’t limited to coffee and tea. There are fresh juices. You can also ask for hot chocolate.
Congee or Arroz Caldo? The choice is yours! 😀
Or maybe you’d like some noodles? You can have freshly cooked noodles dishes at the Chinese Noodle Station.
Of course the usual breakfast fare like bacon, potato wedges…
…franks, baked beans, and more are available as well.
They have everything you need for a full-on Filipino breakfast — rice, viands, and even side dishes.
There’s even an area where you can heat your own bread.
This oven can fit all of their breads and pastries so you can have them warm, soft, and fluffy.
We loved the Cucina breakfast buffet. It was such a relaxing experience and we practically had the whole place to ourselves at 6am. Even if we had to get our daughter to school at 7:30am, there was no need to rush because everything we wanted was within reach. The servers are super attentive to guests’ needs too.
The Cucina breakfast buffet rate is P1,400 net per person. Kids under 6 years of age can eat for free if accompanied by a paying guest.

sad to say that was not what we experienced when we ate there. we waited for more than an hour before we could eat. By the time we ate, there was a lot of missing items in the menu already.
