Funny how I never really was the lipstick kind of girl. Lipstick was always an afterthought with me. There’s always something more important to apply — BB Cream, eyebrow pencil, mascara… my lips always came last and I didn’t really care what I put on them. That was until the day I actually FORGOT to put on ANY lip color.
I was driving to an event. I looked at the rear view mirror and I was horrified at how pale my lips were especially in contrast with the rest of my face. All I had in my bag was colorless lip balm. My eyes were nicely done and then there was the problem of my pale colorless lips. Then it hit me. I can’t ever wear makeup without lip color. It may be the final touch but it’s really important because you look grossly imbalanced with everything on except lipstick. And that is why lipstick is now one of my makeup essentials. I can live without eye shadow but not without lipstick.
Anyhow, I’m reviewing Colour Collection’s latest lipstick today — Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick (P399). I got them in 3 colors (there are 6 in all as far as I know).
Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick in Pink Berry, Caramel, and Cinnamon Red
How lucky that I got drastically different shades! Anyhow, these lippies promise 3 things: decadent color, lip plumping, and unforgettable shine. I was very happy with Colour Collection Lip Perfection Lipsticks so I had high hopes for this one.
Here are swatches under natural light.
Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick in Pink Berry, Caramel, and Cinnamon Red
So here are the 3 colors side by side from left to right — Pink Berry, Caramel, and Cinnamon Red. I think I liked how Caramel looked on me best, with Pink Berry a close second. Cinnamon Red make me look old, I think. You can click on the photo above for a closer look.
What I like about Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick:
- There’s a good selection of shades that will complement different skin tones.
- Pigmentation is excellent. The colors are decadent and vibrant.
- The lipsticks have no scent. That’s a plus as opposed to having a scent I dislike.
- They’re affordable at P399 per tube.
- They don’t feel dry or heavy on the lips.
Downside? They’re not as moisturizing as Colour Collection Lip Perfection Lipsticks. They’re also not as shiny as the description claims (which is actually okay with me) as I found the effect to be somewhere in between matte and glossy (semi-matte?). I do recommend applying some colorless lip balm first before putting this on.
Colour Collection High Definition Lipsticks are available at P399 per tube. You can call the Tupperware Customer Service hotline at 867-2222 for inquiries.
Thank you Colour Collection and Sample Room for the lipsticks!
