I must admit, I have problems going to the bathroom to do a #2 on a regular basis. In this aspect, I envy my hubby who goes like clockwork every morning. It’s especially more of a problem when I go abroad. It’s like my system goes awry and I’m constipated in the sense that I don’t go for 2-3 days after getting to my destination.
My friend Sophie recommended that I try C-Lium Fibre. It comes in two forms — husk (in sachets) and capsules. C-Lium is made of 100% natural psyllium that has 14x more fiber compared to oatmeal or cereal. Benefits of taking C-Lium include helping to control blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels, promoting good digestion, and eliminating excess fats. Sounds good, right? Especially for me since I’m forever fighting the battle of the bulge, plus my father’s side of the family suffers from diabetes.
I first gave C-Lium Fibre husk version a try. It comes in handy and convenient single-serve packets. I’ve actually tried this before because one of Detox in a Bottle‘s juices require it.
Anyhow since I didn’t have juice, I mixed it with water. According to the instructions, you’re supposed to mix it in half a glass of water or juice.
Then you’re supposed to down the thick, gelatinous, and sandy liquid. Hey, at least it’s odorless! I always chug it as fast as I can as not to prolong the torture, lol! It’s so much better with Nadine Tengco’s detox juice which somehow doesn’t become gelatinous (but it’s more than half a glass to a sachet).
After you take in this liquid, you feel full. If you take it before meals, you will definitely eat less. The good thing is, ever since I started taking it I’ve been going to the bathroom regularly. I think I will make it a habit.
Can’t stand the husk? C-Lium also comes in convenient capsule form… BUT one dosage = 5 capsules, and you’re supposed to take them 2x a day so this box is actually just a 5-day supply.
I find the effect of the capsule a lot less evident compared to the husk. For starters, I didn’t feel as full after taking 5 capsules. There was no dramatic change in my bathroom habits too… so I guess the husk works better for me.
A box of 50 capsules like the one I have above costs P110, so that’s P22 a day. A box of 30 husk sachets costs P375, so that’s P12.50 a day. I’m going to finish my current supply and see how it goes… but this early, I can already see myself making it a habit (the husk type anyway).
C-Lium Fibre is available at all leading drugstores nationwide.
