After checking-in at Sofitel and having a consultation at Vietura, we proceeded to Spiral for our De-Light Dinner. Sofitel’s De-Light dishes are nutritious, low calorie, and healthy — the perfect complement to our beauty staycation. After all, beauty starts from within and there’s the age-old saying you are what you eat.
We proceeded to one of Spiral’s function rooms. To be honest, it was kind of torturous having this De-Light Dinner at Spiral because before I got to the room I passed by the steak, foie gras, and all the other sinful offerings of the best hotel buffet in town. But no, I was having none of them… I was here to be good, lol.
We were asked to first choose a drink. There were samplers in test tubes that we could try. The choices boiled down to the following concoctions:
- Ophelia (Cucumber, Apple, and Rosemary) – Helps weight control and improves immune system
- Slim and Sexy (Watermelon, Red Apple, Carrots) – Cools the body, helps lower blood pressure, and anti-oxidant benefits help maintain healthy skin
- Green Choice (Broccoli, Aloe Vera, Lemon) – Improves immune system, fights stress, and provides essential vitamins
But then I ended up ordering something else — the non-alcoholic mojito made of lime soda and calamansi.
Without further ado, dinner was served starting with the Shooter Trio — 3 shot glasses filled with cold soup — Mango Gazpacho with Lobster, Watermelon Tomato Gazpacho with Balsamic Cherry Tomato, and Pineapple Cucumber Gazpacho with Grilled Pineapple. Can you believe these everything is just 250kcal? Yes, our menu had the caloric equivalents of everything we were eating that night. It makes counting calories so much easier!
Next up was Thai Pomelo Salad (226 kcal), which consisted of fresh pomelo, steamed shrimp, and aromatic coriander leaves. Very fresh and light!
Yes, our first meat dish, Chicken Tandoori (360 kcal)! You’re probably thinking that all the dishes add up to thousands of calories but with the exception of the Shooter Trio, several bloggers were sharing everything so I had maybe one piece of chicken from this serving, hahaha.
I really liked the Steamed Scallop (264 kcal) which was served with tofu and black bean sauce. Yum!
I had one of these too — Prawn Wrap with Tzatziki (240 kcal) which was fresh prawn with tomato, lettuce, and cucumber with lemon vinaigrette wrapped in soft tortilla.
Steamed Salmon (360 kcal) with asparagus and super light soy sauce… yes, I ate the asparagus too. Everything was so fresh and delicious.
I had maybe 2 pieces of Assorted Sushi (98 kcal). All mayo-free but that did not take away from the goodness because everything was just incredibly fresh and naturally taste.
I noticed we had mostly seafood, our last course being Tuna Tartare (236 kcal) which was drizzled with truffle dressing. Mmmm… who says healthy can’t be yummy?
We weren’t about to skip dessert, lol. We had Honey Green Tea Cake (204 kcal) with a side serving of Berries Compote + Yogurt. Yes, we had individual servings of this, hahaha! Believe it or not, after having a little of this and that, I was actually full after I had dessert and I was not the least bit tempted to go out and get food from the buffet area.
De-Light meals accompany the Sofitel Beauty Staycation Packages. Just think, when else can you have food this good that’s super healthy and especially prepared by Sofitel’s chefs just or you? 😀
I shall continue my Sofitel Beauty Staycation chronicle in the next post! 🙂
