Last Saturday, hubby and I drove through the rains for our Le Spa at Sofitel Manila pampering session. I purposely scheduled our spa treatment and Sunset Bar dinner for October 12 as my post-birthday celebration.
The last time I had a massage at Le Spa was before it was damaged by floods brought about by the monsoon. It underwent major repairs and renovation but looking at it now, you couldn’t really tell. I felt it looked exactly the way it did before the flood.
They have a huge and luxurious reception area where you can lounge while waiting for the staff to usher you to your treatment room.
While waiting, they’ll ask if you want some ginger tea. I love ginger tea so I said yes. I could tell that Le Spa’s ginger tea is brewed from real ginger as it had a very natural and clean taste.
The room is equipped with a sink and shower area complete with amenities — bath robes, towels, shower caps, and even disposable undergarments which you can wear while having your treatments so that your own undergarments won’t get soaked in oil or massage balm.
We chose to avail of the Marrakech Sweetness massage. It costs P3,000 per person for one hour but Accor privelege card holders get a big discount. They start with exfoliating your back with a mint and green tea scrub then practically baste your entire body with almond oil. The massage is characterized by long gentle strokes that soothe your muscles and can very well lull you to sleep (it certainly put my hubby to sleep, lol). Hubby then had a head massage while I was treated to a facial using Themae Paris products. After the treatments, we felt relaxed and we once again had their piping hot fresh ginger tea.
Le Spa is located at the ground floor, on the same level as Spiral. Setting an appointment before going in for a treatment is highly recommended.
