Right after our Le Spa session during my post-birthday celebration with hubby some weeks ago, we proceeded to have dinner at the Sunset Bar where they have a BBQ buffet every Friday and Saturday evening. I’ve always been curious as to how it’s different from my favorite Spiral buffet.
Sunset Bar’s BBQ buffet is supposed to be held by the Sofitel poolside. Unfortunately, it was rainy that day and so it was relocated to the Davao Function Room instead. The buffet starts at 6:30pm. We got there 8pm because we spent more than 2 hours at the spa. There were folk dances being performed when we got there.
Anyhow, I wasted no time in checking out the food! Nothing like a hearty meal after a full body massage, lol. There was a salad bar with assorted veggies and dressings.
Sunset Bar’s BBQ buffet offers a wide selection of grilled meats like this Grilled Sausage.
Grilled Beef Medallions! There was also grilled lamb, milkfish, seabass, salmon… prime rib… lechon… love the fact that everything is grilled so there’s less oil (hence less fattening hehe).
Baked Potatoes! They are served plain so you can jazz them up the way you want. I got one and then just drizzled Ranch dressing all over it from the salad bar.
I had a lot of these Steamed Vegetables as they went very well with the grilled meats.
You can have seafood cooked the way you want too. Aren’t the mussels huge?
You can DIY your own chocolate fondue, halo-halo, or ice cream sundae at the dessert bar.
I was so happy they had my favorite Puto Bumbong. Even when I dine at Spiral, this is the dessert I always have.
This is a photo of my first plate. I will leave the rest to your imagination. 😀
I was so surprised when the staff brought out a birthday cake and sang a birthday song. It definitely made our dinner more special! 😀
Sofitel’s Sunset Bar offers a BBQ buffet dinner every Friday and Saturday evening for around P2,078 per person. I’ve seen deal sites offer vouchers for around P1,399 per head in the past. Aside from the buffet spread, you can avail of unlimited beer, soda, and iced tea and watch a cultural show while you dine. I hope to be able to try dining by the poolside next time. 🙂
