Do you remember the time when McDonald’s Happy Meals came in boxes? If you’re around my age, you probably do, lol. #Tanders
So anyway, today is a very special day because it’s the day McDonald’s Philippines announced the comeback of that shiny happy red box from our youth. My kids have never experienced getting their McDonald’s Happy Meals in boxes because from the time my firstborn was a toddler, the way it went was you would tell the cashier you want a Happy Meal and then he/she would ask you which toy you prefer. Then you would get your food items and a plastic-wrapped toy.
Boxes have a certain mystique that gets you all excited when you’re about to open it. I’m glad my kids will finally experience the magic of McDonald’s Happy Meal in a box. Gift lang ang peg.
The McDo Happy Meal box is not just a box, it’s a toy in itself. You can cut out and fold animals out of the side panels.
For this particular box, there are two of these cutout creatures — a panda bear and a penguin.
The entire meal and the toy (except the drink) fit inside the box perfectly.
All McDo Happy Meals will come in boxes starting tomorrow, Sept. 19, 2013. For this month, you can choose between Transformers or My Little Pony collectibles as your free toy. They will be available while stocks last, but judging from my fellow mommies’ reactions on my social networking accounts My Little Pony will prove to be a very popular choice, lol, so grab one while you can.
The most affordable McDo Happy Meal is the Burger McDo Happy Meal which can be availed of for P85. It will come with a Burger McDo, Regular Fries, Regular Drink, and a toy all packed neatly inside McDonald’s iconic red Happy Meal box… well, except the drink. Alternatively, you can opt for McSpaghetti, One Piece Chicken with Rice, Chicken McNuggets, Hamdesal or Hot Cakes (breakfast only).
