BB Cream addict here again. After the slew of Korean BB reviews I’ve put up, I’m going Japanese this time with Fairydrops Candy Bar BB Cream.
I got it in Light Ochre which is the lighter shade of the two which are available. Seriously, I can no longer use some of my older BB’s like Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream No. 23 because they’re suddenly two dark for my face for some reason. Like, when I use those BBs, my neck ends up lighter than my face! It’s either my skin lightened or maybe I just got back from the beach when I bought them. So yeah, it’s Fairydrops Candy Bar BB Cream in Light Ochre for me.
The cap splits up into two parts so you can take off the entire cap to reveal the actual spout…
…or you can just take off the top part if you want to squeeze the product onto the sponge tip before applying.
I could tell just from the initial squirt that the color was right for me. It’s more yellow-based so it will work to counter my face’s ruddiness.
I used my fingers to apply the BB cream all over my face and then the sponge tip to even out the blending. I quite like the effect. My face actually matches my neck! I love it!
What I like about Fairydrops Candy Bar BB Cream:
- The shade Light Ochre matches my skin tone perfectly.
- The consistency is light and more liquid-y than creamy so it’s easy to apply. It feels good on the face too.
- I love the sponge tip that comes with the product! It really helps in evening out the BB and neatens up your finished look.
- True to its claim, my skin does look great in photos when I use it.
- It effectively concealed a small pimple mark that I currently have, lol!
- It contains 5 treatment essences that nourish the skin — collagen, royal jelly extract, squalane, jojoba oil, and macadamia seed oil.
- It makes the skin look dewy and luminous but not greasy!
- A little product goes a long way so one container will last a long time.
- It’s fragrance-free!
Downside? There is no SPF so you still need to put on a sunscreen prior to application if you’re using it for daytime. Also, it’s a bit on the pricey side at P1,550.
This is a photo of me wearing the BB at the J.Co Donuts event about 4 hours after I applied the BB. I love how my face isn’t shining like a light bulb!
This is my face 8 hours after I applied the BB. Still not shiny, and I didn’t use anything to blot it. I just took a photo as soon as I got home from all the day’s activities. I love how it still makes my face look fresh!
Fairydrops Candy Bar BB Cream is hands down one of the best BB creams I’ve used so yes, I will definitely repurchase when I run out and I highly recommend it! 😀
