My kids joined FIC’s “I Love Ice Cream Art Cone-test” some time last year. We submitted our entries something like a day or two before the deadline. Winning entries would be featured in FIC’s 2010 calendar. Last December 2009, I got a call from FIC telling me that my son actually won. The prize is a year’s supply of ice cream — 24 half-gallons of any flavor, to be delivered to our house when we call in.
The awarding ceremony was held at FIC’s The Ice Cream Bar at Rockwell Center last January 23, 2010. The twelve winning artworks were attached to the wall near the door. Apart from the GCs for the ice cream, all the winners were each given five copies of the FIC 2010 calendar. My son’s entry appears on the November-December page.
Meanwhile, my daughter ordered FIC’s soft serve frozen yogurt (pictured above left, P120). She likes it plain because FIC’s frozen yogurt has this slightly sweet, tart, yet creamy milky taste. Like her, I had a serving of the yogurt too, but mine had caramel and nuts (pictured above right).
No visit to FIC’s The Ice Cream Bar is complete without sampling Mangga’t Suman (P175). I’m not really fond of ice cream but Mangga’t Suman is really delicious. The ice cream contains chunks of real mangoes and the whole scoop is topped with a frozen chocolate shell. Two full-sized chewy suman drizzled with caramelized muscovado sugar complete this lovely creation. Yummy!
